International Food Festival 12th November 2019
On the evening of Tuesday 12th November, the Faculty International Office of Social Sciences held our second International Food Festival event. Staff and students represented countries from around the globe, by sharing a part of their home culture with the Faculty community.
For this diverse event, attendees home-prepared their unique cuisines and brought these to the Garden Court venue for sharing. We experienced tasting food from around the world, with traditional dishes from Britain, China, Spain, Sri Lanka, India, Brazil, Turkey and Saudi Arabia!
Following on from these culinary delights, the attendees gathered to enjoy some live performances by our talented students Ishaan, Rochelle, Rhea & Joshua, who gave mesmerising handpan, guitar, and vocal performances. The attendees really enjoyed listening to this cultural fusion of music from across the globe.
This was followed by an energetic Rueda dance routine performance by the students of the Salsa Society, who then treated the audience to a Salsa step lesson. The Faculty International Office team loved joining our students to take part in the salsa dancing!
The Faculty International Office team would like to thank our staff and students who attended for making the event another great success! We would also like to share our appreciation for our talented students for their exemplary cooking skills and breathtaking live performances.
We hope everyone enjoyed the International Food Festival as much as we did, and invite students and staff from across the Faculty to join us for more cultural celebration events in the future!
