Southampton Business School students have joined forces with the Chinese Association of Southampton, in order to establish a fundraising platform to assist the frontline medical staff in China in the fight against the Coronavirus outbreak.

The dire need in China now is for more medical supplies, including masks, safety goggles, and protective suits. This platform has been established so that all donations will be used to purchase these supplies and send them to hospitals in China to help meet the present demand.

The Faculty International Office is impressed with how the Southampton community has come together to assist China in this fight with Coronavirus! Special thanks to Southampton Mayor, Councillor Peter Baillie, for supporting Southampton students and CAS’ fund raising campaign! Our appreciation is beyond words.

To date over £9400 has been raised from Southampton students and the wider public.  The first batch of medical supplies has been shipped to China in February under the name of Southampton Students and Chinese Association of Southampton.

Kudos to our students—you have demonstrated what it means to be leaders in challenging situations. You are the shining stars of the future!
