Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies 30th Anniversary Conference: Mobilizing Regional Collaboration in Policy Research

Professor Jane Falkingham, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, was recently invited by the Chinese University of Hong Kong to represent the University of Southampton as a keynote speaker at the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies 30th Anniversary Conference.

The purpose of the conference was to celebrate HKIAPS as a leading platform of interdisciplinary research and community engagement, and to bring together the policy stakeholders and researchers to discuss important social issues.

Within her talk, Professor Falkingham spoke about demographic changes in the Asia-Pacific region and its implications for policy research. Professor Falkingham emphasised the importance of universities across the Asia-Pacific region showing leadership and working together.
