Faculty International Office hosts an Interactive Study Skills and Wellbeing Event
On 11th February, the Faculty International Office hosted an online study skills and wellbeing event for home and international students.
Daisy Lauren-Sherburn, Senior Administrator within the Faculty International Office team, opened this event with an interactive survey to get to know how students are doing and learn what more the Faculty can do to help them to succeed in their studies. We would like to thank our students for engaging with us. We really value your feedback!
Dr Serhiy Stepanchuk, Associate Professor in Economics, then gave a helpful talk on Academic Integrity to explain to students how to avoid common mistakes and guided them to the relevant online resources about best academic practice.
Michael Latham and Sian Furmage, from the Library Skills Hub team, then explained how to access useful Library and Study Support resources to help students with their online learning. This was followed by a talk by Ru Prescott, from the Enabling team, who gave tips for how to take care of your mental health and shared with us the abundance of wellbeing materials and support that is available for students online.
To close the event, Song Pan Utz, Senior Manager of the Faculty International Office, led the Lunar New Year celebrations by sharing some history about how the festival is celebrated around the world and gave a fun interactive quiz to test our knowledge of these traditions!
A big thank you to our brilliant staff and students who took part! To help students to stay connected, we have launched the Faculty Virtual Global Lounge (VGL) . The first event ‘Sleep and Stress Management’ with Prof Sri Kandiah (Faculty Wellbeing Champion) will take place on the 15th February. We hope you can join us there!
