Faculty of Social Sciences hosts a University-wide online conference with Amity University (India)

On 4th March 2021, a University-wide online conference was held between Southampton and Amity University in India to introduce faculty members and enable the two institutions to explore the potential for collaboration.

Prof Sabu Padmadas, the Associate Dean International for Social Sciences, hosted the conference alongside Mr. Kanishk Jain, who represented Amity International Business School. The event brought together over 30 colleagues from across both institutions, who all were keen to forge connections and explore the potential for research, education, and summer school partnerships. Southampton colleagues were delighted to also be joined by Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Amity’s Senior Group Vice-Chancellor, for the first part of the session.

The event started with a round of introductions from both institutions to identify potential areas for collaboration, and was then followed by breakout room sessions to allow colleagues from specific subject areas to continue these conversations in more detail.

The Faculty of Social Sciences is keen to strengthen our relationship with Amity. We hope that these talks will lead to new opportunities in the future for a fruitful and mutually beneficial partnership.
