NUFE Programme Promotion
On 17th November 2021, the Faculty International Office (FIO) and academic colleagues within the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) gave an online promotional talk to a classroom full of Nanjing University of Finance and Economics (NUFE) students. The programme included several presentations which gave information about our Faculty’s teaching strengths, the joint partner programmes, and student support that FIO provides.
Ms Song Utz (Senior Executive Officer, FIO) gave an opening talk about the long-term partnership between NUFE and Southampton. We have joint programmes spanning undergraduate, postgraduate and study abroad in Economics, Business, and Mathematical Sciences. After, Dr Rob Angell (Director of Internationalisation, Southampton Business School) introduced academic colleagues, Dr Andrew Stainton (Principal Teaching Fellow and Study Abroad Programme Director, Southampton Business School) Dr Carlos Lobo (Director of Internationalisation, School of Mathematical Sciences) and Dr Jan Podivinsky (Director of Internationalisation, School of Economics, Social and Political Sciences) gave engaging talks on joint programmes with NUFE from their respective schools. Ms Song Utz also delivered a presentation about how FIO supports partner students throughout their time studying at Southampton.
Over the years FSS colleagues have made regular visits to NUFE, in order to meet students in person and answer their questions. Throughout the pandemic, FIO has continued to interact with partner students within virtual meetings. This online promotion ended with a Q&A session where colleagues answered a wide range of questions from students, including addressing their health and safety concerns by giving information about safety measures on campus.
FIO will keep in touch with partner students and continue to answer their questions before they arrive in Southampton.
