Southampton-SWUFE joint programme promotion

On 9th December 2021, Song Pan Utz (Senior Executive Officer Faculty International Office) and Dr Carlos Lobo (Director of Internationalisation Mathematical Sciences) hosted a zoom session with staff and students from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE).

The session was promoting joint 1+1+1 master’s programmes and 2+2 undergraduate programmes in Mathematical Sciences.  Jia He, Foreign Affairs Secretary in SWUFE’s School of Statistics, started the session with a brief introduction to Southampton, particularly highlighting the recent improvement in Southampton’s QS ranking.

Dr Carlos Lobo gave a presentation introducing the Mathematical Sciences masters programmes, the real-world learning and work experience with leading companies that students experience and the support available from the school of Mathematical Sciences.

Song Utz continued the event to share the highlights of attending University of Southampton, the University’s high academic standing, the support and facilities available, life in the city and the beauty and heritage of the surrounding areas.

Finally, the session closed with a Q&A session, where Song further supported students by answering questions in both English and Mandarin.
