Ukraine Humanitarian Aid Appeal

The Faculty International Office of Social Sciences is saddened by the situation in Ukraine and impressed with how quickly the Southampton community has come together to support refugees, as well as the vulnerable citizens who remain in Ukraine.

We understand that students and colleagues might like to help but are unsure of how to do so. We would therefore like to highlight the BEARR Trust Appeal, as well as the Polish Social Club Collection taking place in Southampton.

BEARR Trust Ukraine Appeal
“ BEARR is raising funds to pay for urgent humanitarian aid for vulnerable people in Ukraine. The money will go to local charities in Ukraine and Moldova who are already partners in our work to improve the health and social welfare of vulnerable people. They will be able to use it quickly to provide food, shelter, clothing, medicine and specialised transport for elderly or disabled people who are in Ukraine or who are now refugees in Moldova and who find it difficult to look after themselves .”  - BEARR Trust

Polish Social Club Collection

Locally the Polish Social Club are taking donations which will be sent to Medyka (Polish-Ukrainian border) from Southampton. They are asking for donations of:

• Non-perishable food
• Food ‘on the go’ (Instant soups, instant noodles etc)
• Baby food and baby formula (including special needs formula)
• Nappies and wet wipes
• Toiletries (roll-on deodorant, shampoo, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes)
• Batteries, torches, and candles
• Camping equipment (sleeping bags, foam mats, and tents)

They kindly ask for all donations to be in a box, which will be stored and displayed in the Polish Club before being sent over.
