To be able to take part in the International Transient Neonatal Diabetes Register you need to have a confirmed diagnosis of transient neonatal diabetes due to one of the following genetic causes:
- 6q24 abnormality
- Paternal uniparental disomy
- Duplication at 6q24
- Loss of methylation (hypomethylation) at 6q24
- ZFP57 mutation
We are unable to accept patients with transient neonatal diabetes due to other causes such as KIR6.2 mutations or permanent neonatal diabetes.
