Centenary Evening Banquet

Following the day-time celebrations, guests were invited to an evening banquet held in the Hartley Suite. The evening brought together staff, students and alumni from the University Geography department as well as guests from Ordnance Survey and the RSPB. After dinner speeches came from Professor Ken Gregory and Dr Mike Clarke and were introduced by Professor Dave Martin.

Prof Steve Darby Welcome Speech

Professor Steve Darby, head of Geography and the Environment, was unable to attend the celebrations due to being on fieldwork in Cambodia at the time. However, in his absence, he recorded the following welcome speech to guests.
