Research interests

My research interests are in biodiversity, ecosystem functioning and ecosystem services, with particular reference to entomology, tropical forest ecology and conservation.

Current research includes working on a project quantifying the effect of habitat complexity within oil palm plantations on biodiversity and experimentally testing the role of this biodiversity in ecosystem functioning and ecosystem services. The Biodiversity and Ecosystem Function in Tropical Agriculture (BEFTA) Project is run in collaboration with University of Cambridge and industry partners, Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology Corporation Research Institute (SMARTRI).

Other ongoing research incorporates arthropod communities of epiphytes and forest leaf litter; litter decomposition and nutrient cycling and research on perception values of biodiversity.
