Julia is a GIS Technician within Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Southampton.

Julia received her BSc in Environmental Geography from University College London in 2009 and recently completed her MSc in GIS and Remote Sensing at the University of Greenwich in 2016 (part-time study). Prior to joining the University of Southampton, Julia’s previous work has predominantly focussed on applying GIS to tropical forest conservation and land-use planning projects as part of the United Nations REDD Programme initiative and to tropical forestry projects within the private sector. Currently she is working as part of the WorldPop team, focussed on a project mapping vaccination coverages in low income countries.

Research interests

Spatial analysis, environmental GIS and Remote Sensing applications.
