Professor Dave Martin speaks to MPs about the future of the Census

Professor Martin was invited to appear before the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee.

Speaking on behalf of the Royal Statistical Society, where Professor Martin is Chair of the Census Study Group, he shared his expertise to contribute to the inquiry on “Social Science and the Census”. The inquiry is seeking to understand the implications for social science of government plans to discontinue the traditional census and instead assemble population data from government administrative sources.
