“Welcome: Overview of Seminar Series and Introduction to Research in the School of Geography and Environmental Science:

Particularly for those newly or recently arrived in the School, in this opening seminar, Jim Wright, the Deputy Head of School for Research, will provide an introduction to this year’s seminar series and provide some broader background on the school’s research groups and culture.  Both Geography and Environmental Science have broad remits, and use a surprising diversity of methods but also tackle a very wide range of social and environmental issues: this can at times feel overwhelming, but can also be very rewarding and attracts many of us to the disciplines.  The seminar series is intended to help our community make the most of this diversity’.”
