This University has some of the most highly regarded academics in GIS and Remote Sensing allowing me to develop the relevant knowledge and skills for professional work in the future.

Since the completion of my Masters dissertation I was nominated for an AGI award and I have just won the RSPSoc 2014 Matsers award. I am now undertaking a PhD.

State of the art computer laboratories coupled with practicals and theoretical classes easily facilitate student understanding of the course.

The dissertation project over the summer was actually put forward by Boots the chemist, and I would go on frequent trips up to Nottingham, to Boots HQ, and talk to them about my project. It gave me the opportunity to go in and meet the team and see how GIS is used in the real world which was invaluable."

Through the online discussion rooms I have exchanged views with people in the UK, the US and across Africa and Europe, and the chance to communicate with fellow GIS students has been invaluable.

I enjoyed working in a dynamic environment in Southampton. There were many opportunities to expand my experiences and knowledge in a range of things.

Without my masters, I wouldn’t have got my job offer with HS2 Ltd, they wouldn’t even have considered me if I didn’t have the skills I developed at Southampton.
