Mr Andrea Gasparotto is a postgraduate research student within Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Southampton.

During my MSc I studied the architecture and depositional patterns in the Venice Lagoon.

As postgraduate researcher, I am interested in the erosional and sedimentological patterns developing along the banks in the Severn Estuary (Wales), one of the environments showing the highest tidal prisms in the World.

Research interests

- Erosional processes in fluvio-marine and coastal environments

- Sedimentological patterns in fluvio-marine and coastal environments

- Geomorphology, especially by using TLS for 3D modelling

- Estuarine dynamics

- Morphodynamics, especially in estuarine and coastal settings

PhD Research: Estuarine bankline erosion processes and coastal retreat in the Severn Estuary

PhD Supervision: Dr. Julian Leyland, Professor Stephen Darby and Professor Paul Carling

Research group
