Miss Jennifer Eileen White is Postgraduate research student within Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Southampton.

A BA in English Literature at Cardiff University prompted me towards research in Feminist Theory. Subsequently, I read Women’s Studies at Oxford University, whilst I was MCR Women’s Officer Mansfield College. After a following 18 months in employment, I was delighted to return to academia on a fully-funded scholarship. Southampton University’s School of Geography is truly interdisciplinary; I have the excellent supervision of economic and feminist geographers, as well as the support of a cohort of like-minded young researchers within Human Geography.

Research interests

Pay-gap; transitions to work; legal profession; economic downturn; gendered work identities; embodiment; graduate employment; feminist economics; cosemtics industry; cosmetic surgery; carcinogenic beauty practices.
