Qualifying as a transportation planner

Qualifications

  1. An undergraduate degree such as geography
  2. A master’s degree in transport planning from an accredited course

Work experience

Pre-entry experience is not always necessary but can be useful in demonstrating your commitment to prospective employers

Internships in transport planning are highly favoured by employers

Work experience, voluntary work or paid experience can all be helpful.

Consultants may be happy to offer unpaid experience so contact organisations or government departments in your local area.
