My time at Southampton has made me more confident in my subject area and ability. I appreciate the wide range of knowledge that geography offers, and I like that there’s so much opportunity to learn.

Why did you choose to come and study at Southampton?

I decided to study at Southampton after visiting during the summer. I had the instinctive feeling that it was the right university for me.

What is it like studying here?

It’s been a great experience studying here! I feel comfortable on campus and in the town, the university offers tons of support services that are important for the student experience. I also like the relaxed atmosphere campus has – the weekly farmers markets, the approachable student body and abundance of open, green space all contribute to this.

How do you rate study facilities at the University?

The university has tons of study facilities that are easily accessible. The library, for instance, has a range of spaces for a variety of uses. It comes in handy during exam period. The uni also has a lot of support facilities during these times which all add to a positive study experience.

What have been your Southampton ‘highlights’ (best experiences) so far?

I think my highlights are the opportunities I have had! I have loved being involved in multiple societies and meeting wonderful people.

How has your time at Southampton helped you to grow as a person?

What are you enjoying most about your course?

So far, I am enjoying the teaching and the way the assessments are organised.

Do you have the opportunity to study modules outside of your core subject area?

BA Geography allows a lot of flexibility in picking optional modules from other subject areas outside the core subject. I liked the flexibility of having a minor with my degree and tailoring it to a way that suited my wants.

What is the city of Southampton like to live in?

There’s a lot to do in Southampton – from the Common to West Quay to the City Docks and more. I love walking around and exploring, especially now the weather is getting better!
