Exploring commonalities between global health research and public health stakeholders

A workshop to define future action.

As part of the ongoing activities of the GHRI, a meeting with external local and national PH stakeholders was held at Chilworth Manor Hotel on the 18th of February. The aim of the day was to explore commonalities between global health research and public health stakeholders. The event was attended by approx. 70 participants, and presentations were provided by a range of University of Southampton presenters to showcase their research. The Southampton presentations covered three sessions in the morning, with presentations from Public Health Dorset, Wessex Institute, Public Health England, and the Academic Health Science Network. There was plenty of opportunity for network and formal and informal discussions. Foundations were laid for further research collaboration.
