The University of Southampton
Health Ethics and Law (HEAL)

People

HEAL is an inter-disciplinary research centre at the University of Southampton exploring the nature of health care law and ethics and its production and impact on society. It was established in 2005 by Professor Jonathan Montgomery and Dr Caroline Jones. It is currently directed by Dr Melinee Kazarian.

The HEAL network, with more than 70 members, draws together a range of scholars from different disciplines to build upon the broad range of expertise in the field of health care within the University and across local health care services. We arrange lunchtime seminars on topical subjects, workshops, and liaise with colleagues and peers to discuss and coordinate responses to public consultations in the field of health care ethics and law.
