Health Ethics and Law (HEAL)

Policy and engagement

Working with partners in health care to investigate today’s key issues in health and ethics.

Members of HEAL are well-known and respected for their valuable contributions to public debate on a range of subjects. In 2013, in conjunction with LEAG and sponsored by Hickman Rose Solicitors, we hosted a public discussion with Robert Francis QC, who chaired the public inquiry into the Mid-Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust. Professor Jonathan Montgomery responded to his presentation, prior to an open Q and A session with the audience. Both parts of the evening can be viewed on You Tube below.

Part II: Robert Francis QC,  Q and A session

Both our blog and twitter feed comment on significant cases, and invite debate on the major issues of the day, including, for example, assisted dying, mitochondrial donation/replacement and elective ventilation.
