The University of Southampton
Centre for Healthcare Analytics

About us

Background

Healthcare is a data rich environment. Unfortunately, the quantity and quality of insights derived from this data is not relative to this richness. Unlocking the potential of this data will be of great benefit to patients and wider society. Working with our partners, such as NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Wessex, we are taking our first steps to face this challenge.

What we do?

The Centre is a result of collaboration between NIHR ARC Wessex and Southampton Business School.  We are looking for opportunities to bring the specialties from Southampton Business School, Centre for Operational Research, Management Sciences and Information Systems (CORMSIS) and other research entities across the University and externally together in order to progress projects of interest and build a leading healthcare analytics knowledge base.

How we do it?

We are looking for projects where we can use the expertise of our associates to inform and improve health and health systems design and delivery, lessen mounting health costs and raise awareness and understanding of healthcare analytics.

Strategic themes

Knowledge creation and dissemination: To build a leading healthcare analytics knowledge base and disseminate it to stakeholders.

Generating real world impact: To inform and improve health and health systems design and delivery using analytics.

Building lasting relationships: Create a network that is as wide and diverse as possible, offering unbiased support to solve real-world problems.
