Dr Melinda A Taylor BSc, RN, SCPHN, MBA, PhD
Senior Research Fellow
Melinda is an experienced healthcare manager and has worked within the NHS and the private sector. She is a qualified nurse and community public health specialist. She has a BSc in Human Psychology, an MBA from Henley Business School (University of Reading) and a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Southampton. Her PhD research concerned the clinical shift change handover between junior doctors and received the Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award in the Healthcare Management category.
Melinda worked as a research fellow with Southampton City Clinical Commissioning Group, where she mapped the health and social care system for people aged 65 years and over, to inform decision-making for care and service improvement.
As a member of the Wessex CLAHRC Data Science Team, Melinda’s work was focused on the behavioural aspects of operational research.
Research projects have included health and social care integration, care pathway mapping, evaluating workforce development within complex interventions and the impact and implementation of operational research in health care.
