I joined University of Southampton in 1996 as a joint appointment and have enjoyed a variety of roles ever since. Having trained at The Nightingale School at St Thomas Hospital, London I began my career working clinically in ITU and other high acuity settings, before moving into management and education roles in London. A move back south in 1994 gave me an opportunity to return to clinical practice before commencing the joint appointment, and then full time education again.
