Dr Muhammad Qasim is a Research Fellow within Health Sciences at the University of Southampton.

His research has been focused on the development of in silico solutions for evaluating and monitoring patient health using a combination of biology, medical imaging, and computational mechanics.

He has extensive experience in the application of experimental and computational biomechanics tools to investigate musculoskeletal disorders such as low back pain, osteoporosis, and osteoarthritis.

He has worked in both the clinical (Rush University Medical Centre Chicago, Mayo Clinic Rochester, and Hospital for Special Surgery NYC) and engineering (University of Illinois at Chicago, Sheffield University, Anglia Ruskin University) settings working on multidisciplinary projects.

He is working within Skin Health Group to develop technologies for improving respiratory mask design in collaboration with the Radii Devices and the Philips Sleep and Respiratory Care.
