Mrs Rose Maunsell BSc (Hons), RD
Research Fellow and Registered Dietitian

After graduating in 2012 with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Rose worked clinically as a dietitian in the NHS. Following this she took a research role in the medical nutrition industry, before joining the University in 2018. Rose’s research experience is predominantly in nutrition in long term conditions. Rose remains a registered dietitian and undertakes clinical work alongside her research.
Good nutrition is the foundation of health, however the importance of nutrition is often still under-recognised. I believe there are huge opportunities to improve patient outcomes and maximise healthcare efficiencies through good nutritional care.
Rose Maunsell is a Research Fellow in Health Sciences at the University of Southampton. She is lead researcher on the DiAMoND study, developing a patient decision aid for people living with motor neurone disease, and also works on a project to support people with cancer to self-manage nutrition (MONICA).
