Rachel is a Lecturer in Mental Health within Health Sciences, University of Southampton. She joined the University in 2002, having worked in clinical practice as a clinical nurse specialist in the field of addictions nursing. Her background also includes posts with substance misuse training and development, and the Wessex Regional Drug Prevention Team as a Nurse Advisor for Harm Reduction. She is a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN), and is also on the NMC Register as a Registered Nurse Teacher. Rachel has a BA (Hons) in Public Sector Health Studies, has completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Governance, and has achieved a MA in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. Her interests are addictions nursing, physical health care for mental health clients and group-work and communication skills development.
