What made you select the University of Southampton?

I was advised by colleagues that The University of Southampton provided a high-quality education in Neonatal medicine.

What was it like studying here?

I was inspired by the high standard of the course. Communication with the lecturers and tutors was easy my questions were readily addressed.

My best Southampton experience was being able to interact with other medical professionals from across continents.

What did you enjoy most about your course?

I enjoyed the opportunity to apply the course contents to clinical practice. I also liked that the course was focused on evidence-based medicine.

Did any exposure to employer opportunities?

Research led learning helped me to investigate a question of interest and therefore allowed me to apply my findings to clinical practice.

How has your degree helped develop your career?

My degree helped me to gain evidence-based knowledge in Neonatal medicine. I am now better able to manage my patients.

What interesting projects have you been involved in that you would like to tell us about since graduating?

The highlight of my career is the opportunity I have been given to serve the neonatal population and to positively influence Neonatal morbidity and mortality in my country.

What tips would you give to current students looking to start a career in your sector? What could they be doing now to make themselves more employable when they graduate?

Working in neonatal medicine requires passion, self-discipline and dedication.

Do you have any future ambitions?

Future ambitions include teaching students and to be able to be a part of national policy making for the Paediatric population.
