Dr Lesley Collier visits Singapore

Published: 22 December 2011

Earlier this year Dr Lesley Collier, our senior lecturer in occupational therapy, was invited as a visiting expert to the Ministry of Health in Singapore.

Lesley visited a number of different locations including rehabilitation centres for homeless and older people. The aim of her trip was to undertake performance assessments, advise on activity programmes, treatment strategies and best practices, and consult with local health and education programmes.

Lesley met with occupational therapists and multi-disciplinary team members to discuss applying sensory processing to activity programming and environmental design to improve the functional performance of people with dementia and other cognitive impairments.
