‘Cancer Survivors’ film premiered at Southampton, celebrating 10 years of partnership between the University and Macmillan Cancer Support

Whilst increasing cancer survival rates are to be celebrated, the experiences and needs of those who have completed their treatment have been relatively neglected, until now.

A new ‘Cancer Survivors' film to celebrate 10 years of partnership between the University of Southampton and Macmillan Cancer Support was premiered in the Nuffield Theatre on Wednesday 16 January. Attending the event were survivors who appeared in the film, Macmillan staff and University academics and students.

The University of Southampton has developed the ColoREctal Wellbeing (CREW) study to look at a number of factors influencing recovery, which takes into account the disease itself, the level of treatment patients receive, the support available to them and the range of coping skills they have.
