Congratulations to all Health Sciences academics who have been nominated in the 2013 ETAs (Excellent in Teaching Awards) held by SUSU to recognise and reward excellence amongst lecturers and teaching staff. We have multiple nominations in each of the five award categories.

The winners of the course and Faculty awards will be announced in the coming weeks, with the University winners to be revealed at the Awards night on May 2nd which will be recorded by SUSUtv.

Dr Julie Cullen and Liz Thiebe co-designed and delivered a one day event for regional primary care nurse leaders, ‘Clinical Commissioning and Primary Care in the New NHS', earlier this month.  This was the first collaboration between our University and the newly formed Thames Valley and Wessex Leadership Academy (TWLA) and marked the beginning of the ‘New NHS' commissioning structure. 

NHS England Director of Nursing, Hilary Garratt, provided the plenary speech and inspiration to 39 nurse leaders from across the South of England who attended.

Congratulations to Bachelor of Nursing student Justina Forbes who has been awarded a first place 'Outstanding Academic Achievement Award' by LASER Learning Awards and Access to Higher Education.  This is a great achievement and a real success.
