The Daily Echo has today featured the fundraising efforts of our nursing students and staff for the charity, AMECA.  The group is raising over £55,000 for their upcoming trip to Ghana later this summer.

Saints star Rickie Lambert is backing Health Sciences research led by Professor Maria Stokes as part of the £3m Arthritis Research UK Centre for Sport, Exercise and Osteoarthritis. The research, which hopes to reduce the impact of injuries caused by playing sport in both elite and recreational sports players, has also been covered by the Daily Echo this week.

The postgraduate open evening which took place earlier this week was a great success with over 40 delegates attending.  An album of pictures from the evening can be viewed on the Health Sciences Facebook page.

Professor Jessica Corner is quoted in the Nursing Times reflecting on what makes Southampton a top 10 university for nursing. The publication interviewed some of the best and worst performing universities in a new league table of higher education providers - the Guardian's university guide for 2014.

The Wessex HIEC is running a free interactive workshop ‘Mental healthcare using APPs, telehealth and telecare' on Wednesday 19th June from 9.30am to 4pm in room 1003 of building 67.  Speakers include ‘Big White Wall', Dr Tim Anstiss, and Andy Pulman from Bournemouth University.  To book email wessexhiec@soton.ac.uk
