Congratulations to Professor Maria Stokes and Dr Lisa Roberts (pictured above) whose recent fellowships from the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy were conferred last Friday at the Russell Hotel in London.

Christine Whitehead with support from Wayne Arnett successfully won a bid of £1,000 from the central Recruitment and Outreach Team to further fund their Primary Outreach Activity. Christine and Wayne already work with their local primary schools to get the children interested in Health Sciences. This funding will go towards building a set of activities for older primary school children.

Our BSc (Hons) Healthcare: Management, Policy and Research has been widely reported within India's media including The New Delhi Education Times, The New Indian Express, The Tribune India, Jagran Josh and The Pioneer.

As part of the University's Distinguished Lecture series Dr Doris Howell, Senior Scientist at the Ontario Cancer Institute, will be delivering a lecture at 4pm next Wednesday in Building 67, lecture theatre 1027.  The topic will be Tailoring Chronic Disease Self-Management to Cancer: Results of a Mixed-Method Study and Road Map for Change.  To register email Carol Hill: ch2u10@southampton.ac.uk.

And finally...don't forget the switching on of our Christmas lights 2013 this Friday!  The big ‘light up' will take place from 4pm, Highfield Campus.
