Event details

Former mental health nurse, columnist for the Nursing Times, and published author, Mark Radcliffe, will read a short excerpt from his latest novel ‘Stranger Than Kindness’.

Everyone is invited to this talk by Mark Radcliffe who will read a short excerpt from his latest novel ‘Stranger Than Kindness' which he describes as an ‘enquiry using fiction into three distinct themes that sit at the heart of the crisis in nursing. Power, bodies and the hierarchy of knowledge'.

The talk is on Tuesday 12 November from 4- 5pm in Building 67, Room 1003, and it promises to be a bit different.

Mark has been invited to the Faculty by the Health and Humanities Club - an informal gathering of people from across the University interested in talking about the crossover between health, medicine, the arts, history, philosophy and human geography in a relaxed space.

After the talk some of us will be heading to Wild Lime Bar & Kitchen on Portswood Road to eat and chat about the health and humanities (@6pm)

To register your place for the talk and/or supper then please email R.L.Bartlett@soton.ac.uk
