The Faculty of Health Sciences (University of Southampton) is delighted to be hosting a free evening seminar with Wendy Nicholson (Professional Officer for Community Nursing) from the Department of Health and Crystal Oldman (CEO) of the Queens Nursing Institute on the 25th of June 2014 between 5.30pm and 9.00 pm entitled: An Evening with Wendy Nicholson from the Department of Health. Community Nursing at the Heart of Integrated Care - Delivering the Vision! Co presenting - Dr Crystal Oldman (CEO) The Queens Nursing Institute.
Wendy and Crystal will be providing a national overview and local trusts have been invited to discuss how their community nursing workforce is rising to the challenge of providing integrated care.
A panel made up of the speakers will close the evening allowing for question and answer time with the audience. If you are attending the seminar and would like to submit a question to the panel in advance, please email it to Steph Baker (s.n.baker@southampton.ac.uk) by the 22nd June 2014.
The objectives of the event are:
- To discuss the importance of delivering integrated care to communities. How are local services being re-configured, across traditional boundaries to work in partnership with other providers?
- To raise awareness of the innovative and excellent care being provided locally by different providers.
- To identify through dialogue, possible solutions to problems and obstacles to delivering integrated care.
- To highlight the need for investment in care provision as well education and training across the workforce.
There will of course be an opportunity for networking.
