Marketing update

What a year for Marketing team! Scooping the best Postgraduate Campaign Award at the Prospects Postgraduate Awards in Manchester in November was a fantastic achievement for us and a great way to round off the year.

We're winners

This year we have undertaken more marketing activity than ever before across all areas including undergraduate, postgraduate and research. Our advertising has shifted significantly more online which allows us improved measurement to be able to target our audiences carefully. If you haven't seen some of our recent online additions check out the very recently launched Faculty blog, if you haven't seen it then please click here

Our twitter account is now embedded in our homepage. This is a great source of news in and around the Faculty, and, along with the blog and our other social media channels, really helps positive interaction and engagement with our many audiences. All these channels go a long way to supporting and exposing our brand's personality. Please follow us @HSciences and let us know if you have some news that we can tweet for you on behalf of the Faculty.

We have produced two videos for the Faculty, one promoting UG and one promoting PG study, both of which have had a great level of viewings from our Faculty website and YouTube channel, all helping to give more insight into studying here.

You may also have noticed the newly revamped foyer in B67 which we hope has made an impact! Plans are afoot for revamping the foyer of B45 in the New Year too.

This year was the year we saw huge changes in our PG and CPD portfolio following revalidation. We developed our new PG and CPD web pages and prospectus's in super quick time which was a real team effort.

We have also developed the Sharepoint site and a specific marketing area which has some great resources for all staff to use. It's full of ‘how to' guides and templates which will make your life easier!

Our team also set up the Health Sciences workforce newsletter which is sent on a monthly basis to stakeholders. A huge amount of work was undertaken developing our stakeholder list and we were able to collate a database of over 13,000 contacts across 15 different stakeholder groups. This will be invaluable as we continue to build stronger stakeholder links going forward.

On the research side the Faculty's first New Boundaries publication was printed this year which showcases our excellent research and supports REF. In addition we now have an impact area on our Faculty website which we have worked on together with the academics concerned to turn some of their case studies and research into laymen's terms. This aims to highlight and grow awareness of the huge impact their findings are making on society.

We have worked with all three research groups to improve their online presence, with one group's site completed and handed over, the second in the final stages, and the third is work in progress. When they are all live this will help "Tell their story" and we will then work on increasing their search-ability.

The work of the media team has really paid off this year with some amazing national and international coverage for the Faculty which all helps to raise profile and reputation.

This brief resume doesn't even cover half of the work that has been done this year so if you have any questions or want to know more about any aspect of our work in the Faculty please contact one of the team!

And finally, all that's left to say is a big ‘thank you' from all of us for all your support and assistance. We really can't do our work without your input.

Best wishes for 2014 and enjoy your Christmas break.

Sarah, Lisa, Rebekah and Rebecca.
