Academic Reward and Recognition Strategy

Adam Wheeler (Provost), supported by Janice Donaldson (Director of Human Resources), recently held an open meeting for academic staff within the  Faculty of Health Sciences regarding the Academic Reward and Recognition Strategy.

This meeting explained the two core proposals of the strategy, which were the new Academic titles and pathways and a replacement for the current appraisal system, Personal Professional Development Review (PPDR) with the Development and Appraisal Process (DAP).

After the presentation by the Provost, comments and questions were welcomed.  A summary of these questions and those raised by other faculties, can be found on the Academic Reward and Recognition website,  On this website a more detailed commentary on the proposals can be found, along with the opportunity to voice your opinions on the two forum boards.  The factsheet handed out at the meeting can also be found on this site.

Open meetings are continuing to be held throughout March.  For those of you that could not make the first meeting, a final open meeting will be arranged for all academic staff from all faculties to attend.  Details of this meeting will be disseminated when known.  Additionally a follow up meeting, headed by Janice Donaldson, has been set up for Health Sciences academic staff on Friday 23rd March 2012.
