Welcome to our new students

A warm welcome to our new intake of 130 students from Dr Ellen Kitson-Reynolds and Debra Ugboma.

The Midwifery team saw its first February intake of 23 student midwives start their three year programme. We welcomed our first Masters in Midwifery Studies pre-registration students who are learning in tandem with the Bachelor of Midwifery (HONS) students. The February intake opens up the opportunity for the students to engage in shared learning experiences with Physiotherapy and PGDip students. We are looking forward to sharing these inter-professional learning experiences with other disciplines within the Faculty over the duration of the programme.

The intake of Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing students in February was the largest to date, with a total of 117 students commencing the programme. Students enter the programme with a minimum first degree, in a range of disciplines and subjects, which this year includes students with bio-medical science, teaching, psychology and law degrees. We also have students who already hold a Master’s degree and PhD. These students bring a wide range of extremely valuable attributes to nursing and the enhancement of patient care, and we welcome them into the Faculty.
