Marketing update

It’s been a busy few months for the FoHS marketing team and we are currently finalising our activity plans for the next cycle. The central PG prospectus is in full swing, and due to go to print mid-June, with the Faculty prospectus following closely behind. With the new UCAS cycle now live, the UG Faculty prospectus for 2016 entry is printed and ready for July’s open days.

We are really proud to present our new course films for Occupational Therapy and Healthcare Science undergraduate programmes. The films follow two of our students on placement, in skills labs, and learning and socialising around campus. Through their stories we aim to promote the courses to prospective students at open days and throughout the year on the website, social media channels and visit days. Films to promote the other UG programmes are in the pipeline for the coming year and will complete the set by 2016.

We have been working hard to raise our Faculty social media presence too. Two hundred more followers have joined our Twitter profile, @HSciences, this month and the numbers are rising continuously. It’s a great place to reach students, prospective students, staff, researchers, partners and stakeholders with all the great things that go on within the Faculty. Keep your eyes out for an online live social media calendar which will allow you to add your events throughout the year and ensure they’re covered on our social media channels. Hopefully this will increase engagement from everyone!

Our postgraduate campaign has seen some new initiatives in the last month with a new targeted LinkedIn campaign using bespoke emails sent directly to users’ LinkedIn in-boxes within relevant health sciences and medical field profiles. We are also planning PG Gmail Sponsored Promotions (GSP) and online display advertising through real time bidding! Watch this space…

We’ve also been working with the FOS team on the new kiosk in reception. Don’t forget to invite it to meetings so your visitors can sign in on arrival.

We had a successful National Student Survey as our third years logged-in to give their feedback. We ran a competition on our social media channels with third year BSc Adult Nursing student, Robyn, winning an iPad the SAA team organised as a prize.

Did you know that we have had over 447,000 sessions on our website since last year? This continues to grow as we increase our reach. In fact sessions have increased 40% since the same time in the previous year. This highlights how important our content is and how beneficial the new site design will be when the project is complete.

In addition to all of this we have finished filming for our Faculty advertisement, which will highlight Health Sciences to an online audience during relevant broadcasts, and will be shown on demand services and YouTube channels. Watch this space for the advert…
