Welcome to our new members of staff

 

Professor Lisette Schoonhoven

Professor Lisette Schoonhoven has taken up permanent position as Professor of Nursing and is based at the Clinical Academic Facility in UHS. Lisette has worked as a senior research fellow at the Scientific Institute for Quality of Healthcare (IQ healthcare) at the Radboud university medical center in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Her research focused on quality and safety of nursing care and implementation.

Lisette is also an active member of the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (EPUAP) and was the international chair of the 2014 international guideline development group. She joined the University of Southampton's Skin Health and Continence Technology group in 2012.

Her new role as Professor of Nursing involves studies on fundamental nursing care with a particular interest in skin health. She is part of the Wessex CLAHRC theme on this topic working with Professor Peter Griffiths and also works closely with Professors Dan Bader and Mandy Fader from the Skin Health and Continence research themes.

Lisette will continue her international collaboration around pressure ulcers, skin health, quality and safety of nursing care and implementation and will become president of the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel from September 2015.

Lisette and her husband are now settling into the UK and enjoying life in Southampton.

Professor Theresa Wiseman

Professor Theresa Wiseman has been appointed to a joint Professorial Fellow position between Health Sciences and The Royal Marsden NHS Trust. Theresa joins us from her role as Strategic Lead for Health Service Research at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London. We are delighted to have Theresa join us and you will be able to read more about her in the next newsletter.

We also wish to extend our congratulations to Christine May who has been appointed to the position of Trials Manager, and to Claire Foster who has been promoted to Professor.
