Flexible study

Our postgraduate programmes provide the flexibility required of today's aspiring and practicing healthcare professionals.

We offer both applied clinical and research-oriented courses with most offering step-on, step-off flexibility to enable easy transfer between PG Cert, PG Dip and MSc programmes of study. Many also provide a choice of both entry and exit points meaning you can work, for example, towards a Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma, continuing this to a full Masters qualification.

A one-year taught masters course is the usual foundation for a three year PhD by research.

Other doctoral programmes are based on a mix of taught and research components and give dedicated training for specialists. They are typically funded by the NHS, or other agencies.

We also offer a range of continuing professional development programmes. Our modules and programmes have been mapped against the NHS knowledge and skills framework (KSF) and, where appropriate, specialist NMC standards in public health, and community nursing. The advanced practitioner pathway at masters level has been designed around the NMC consultation for advanced practice.
