Genetic testing decision aid for young women.

Genetic testing to find out about genes that increase the risk of breast cancer may soon be offered to younger women with breast cancer, at or soon after diagnosis.

Professor Claire Foster and her team, funded by Breast Cancer Now, will create a decision aid to help women decide whether to have a genetic test or not.

Deciding whether to undergo genetic testing at diagnosis can cause additional anxiety for women, so we need to find the best ways to help, by providing the information they need to make informed decisions.

With the help of women affected by breast cancer, Professor Foster and her team will make a decision aid to help younger women to feel more comfortable making decisions about genetic testing.
