Research project: Improving Fundamental Care on Hospital Wards

Currently Active:

This project is a two-stage, mixed methods study using focus groups, surveys, structured observations, field notes and interviews. Three wards over two hospitals are participating, with two intervention wards and one control ward at each site.

In Work Package One the TellUs card and patient care choices will be developed using an expert panel and a series of focus groups with patients and staff.

In Work Package Two the combined intervention will be run. Baseline and follow-up data will be collected on six wards across two hospital sites.

The project aims to assess the feasibility and acceptability of a combined intervention to support patient centred fundamental care activities.
