This is part of the STAR programme: Development, Implementation & Integration of a Comprehensive Prostate Cancer Survivorship Programme into Practice (The STAR Programme: Personalised Supported Self-Management and Remote Monitoring for Men with Prostate Cancer).

This arm of the study focusses on continence management. The aim is to improve the quality of life of men with incontinence following prostate cancer treatment by building, testing and implementing a novel continence management system that is integrated within existing continence and urology specialist service.

There are five modules in this arm of the programme.

  1.  To develop web based information for men with leakage following prostate cancer.
  2.  A product ‘choose and mix’ system to better utilise the personal budget and products that are suitable for each person.
  3.  To test current penile compression devices and develop a better device.
  4.  To test washable night time absorbent products and develop a more acceptable and efficient product.
  5.  Clinical pathway – qualitative interview study to gain greater understanding of the experience of men with urinary incontinence following prostatectomy.
