Mrs Cassandra Powers is Senior Research Assistant within Health Sciences at the University of Southampton.

I obtained a BA in Biology with a minor concentration in Anthropology from Boston University, Boston, MA, USA in 2005. I then went on to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and completed an MSc in Epidemiology in 2008. In September 2008, I joined the Sexual Health department at the Health Protection Agency and was responsible for the national monitoring of syphilis and lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV). During the recent influenza pandemic (2009-2010) I was seconded to manage a large influenza self-sampling direct-mail study. I joined the University of Southampton in 2012 and am involved in the management and analysis of a large cohort of breast cancer patients to identify the prevalence of aromatase inhibitor-induced arthralgia.
