12-m Tilting and Translating Cabin

This human-rated facility is capable of reproducing arbitrary time histories with frequency content up to 1 Hz, peak-to-peak horizontal displacements up to 12 metres, and peak roll or pitch angles (depending on subject orientation) of 10 degrees. For most experiments a cabin of 2 m x 1.2 m x 1.7 m is fitted to the platform.

This test rig is used for fundamental and applied research into motion sickness, ride comfort, and fundamental studies of the discomfort caused by low-frequency motions.
