The Courses

We offer three courses that provide an insight into human responses to vibration in specified areas and explore applications of research:

Course A Vehicle ride and seating (2 days)

Course B Whole-body vibration (3 days)

Course C Human Responses to Vibration (4 days)

The courses are ideally suited to engineers, scientists and others seeking a good understanding of human effects of vibration and related regulations. The courses include lectures, laboratory tours and demonstrations.

Syllabus of each course will be available on this website in due course.

The course comprises lectures, laboratory tours and demonstrations, with topics covering:

Human Factors Research Unit, ISVR

The Human Factors Research Unit (HFRU) conducts fundamental and applied research, provides training and offers advices in matters related to human responses to vibration. The multi-disciplinary research areas include biodynamics, ride comfort, vibration-induced injuries and motion sickness. The unique facilities include motion simulation laboratory, human vibration library, and in-house developed software & hardware (HVLab).

Fees

The course fees are shown below. The fee includes course notes, lunches and refreshments at the University, and a course dinner on one evening, but does not include accommodation. Click here for a list of accommodation.

Course A Vehicle ride and seating: 2 days (11-12 March 2014) £550
Course B Whole-body vibration: 3 days (11-13 March 2014) £750
