We recognise that everyone encounters difficulties and challenges at various times throughout their lives. People manage these difficulties in various ways, sometimes finding help from their family, friends, their GP or from private or public services.

The University Counselling Service is part of Student Services and we are only able to provide counselling to students.
An Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is a service available to staff as another way to help you cope with life’s difficulties and challenges.
The University provides all staff with access to an EAP (USERNAME = worklife, PASSWORD = worklife) through Health Assured.
You can receive information and advice, support and telephone counselling.

The service is confidential, not restricted to issues and problems connected with work, and is free of charge. Access to support is via telephone helpline and website.
Counselling and Advisory Services are also widely available on the NHS and through other organisations, most of which can be accessed via your General Practitioner.
