Sick pay

If you are unable to work as a result of illness you will receive Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) from the University for a maximum of 28 weeks.

For the first seven days of illness you complete a self-certificate. After 7 days, reasonable medical evidence is required to support payment of SSP. This is usually in the form of a medical statement from your GP confirming that you have been advised to refrain from work.

Further guidance is available below in the University policies and procedures.

***It is the responsibility of staff to record their sickness absence via the MyHR Dashboard. If staff are unable to do this, their line manager must do it on their behalf.***
